The IRS Will Never Email You
If you get an email from
Electronic Federal Tax Payments System that says your tax payment made but the recipient have been
rejected. DON'T CLINK ON THE LINK. It is a bogus Web site
containing software that infects the intended
victim's computer.
The IRS will NEVER communicate
by email. Do not click on any links,
open any attachments or reply to the sender of any e-mail that claims to
comes from the payment system.
If you receive an IRS-related e-mail that you suspect is a
phishing attempt or directs you to an imitation IRS site, forward it to the IRS
at phishing@irs.gov.
